Laboratory dispersion kneaders ,also called as Lab internal rubber mixer ,they are indeal equipment for research and development and small batch of the latest rubber and plastics material, suitable for mixing, kneading and dispersing various low-viscosity material, including plastics, rubber, synthetic rubber, hot melt adhesive.
The lab dispersion kneaders prefectly controls mixing and blending of raw material to form uniform compound mixture ensuring better dispersion .
These lab dispersion kneaders are espercially effective for mixing and blending metal powders with binders or additives evely in order to meet the requirment of high quality and even compounded material, they are widely used in the development of materials like metal injection molding (MIM) feedstocks, sintering blends, or other powder metallurgy formulations.
So Why Lab Dispersioni Kneader Is Ideal for Metal Powder?
* Uniform Distribution: Ensures even dispersion of powders and binders, critical for mechanical strength and consistency in MIM or sintering.
* Small Batch Sizes: Perfect for R&D, formulation trials, or quality testing before scaling up.
* Controlled Environment: You can control temperature, mixing time, rotor speed, and atmosphere.
Here’s let us explore how these lab dispersion kneader work for metal powder in this blog
So how Laboratory Dispersion Kneaders Work for Metal Powder:
1. Feeding the Materials:
The metal powder (like stainless steel, copper, aluminum ,iron powder) is fed into the lab dispersion kneader equipment along with binders (like wax, thermoplastics, or polymers), lubricants, or other additives.
2. Controlled Heating:
The kneader chamber is jacketed and temperature-controlled , it is constructed with heat resistance, wear out resistance and anti-corrosive and equipped to chill the material to be compounded into a high quality compounded materia . This feature allows this equipment to control precise heating ( range from 80°C to 180°C) to soften or melt the binders without degrading them.
3. Two Rotor Mixing:
In the chamber of the lab dispersion kneader, two counting rotors (usually of the sigma or butterfly type) rotate at slow speeds (commonly 20–60 rpm), which provid intense shearing and kneading,so that insure the compound material can be kneaded and dispersered evenly and fully and uniform wetting and coating of the metal particles by the binder.
4. Vacuum Capability (Optional):
Bacially ,there are many lab dispersion kneaders have vacuum capabilities function,so that remove entrapped air or volatiles, which effectively prevent porosity in final sintered products.
5. Discharge:
After mixing, the homogenous compound is discharged tilting outlet ,or if it is a little sticky , it may need manually operate to discharge the mixed compound material.
When the material is cooled , It forms into a doughy or pelletizable mass, which can be process to be granulate for further shaping or injection.
